tuesday is the first day of my work week, i'm always excited to see all the new flowers that have arrived. the store is packed, in and out of the cooler. fall antique hydrangeas, berries in all colors, grasses and ah, the roses. an esperenza rose, so fragrant, opens up as big as a saucer and lasts a good week. who would not love this rose? who would not love my job?

Yamma Mack - Kevin & LynnThank you for including us in your special day. To say you looked stunning Lynn, is clearly an understatement, you radiated, and to see the tears in your eyes Kevin as you first set eyes upon your bride was sweet and touching. On your own, you are wonderful people, together, you will conquer the world.Love you both,Chris & Yamma Mack

So glad you got these! I completely forgot to send them to you when we got them, so I’m glad someone was responsible enough to do it for me (thanks OLAS!). Although we actually haven’t had them for that long… (funny story, we got them in the normal amount of time but accidentally recycled the photo DVD the first time we got it and had to wheedle for a new one…I see a common thread here…). Thanks so much for a lovely planning experience and a lovely day with gorgeous flowers in my favorite colors.

Hi. I’m trying to get an idea of how much money I saved (if any) by doing my own wedding flowers (middle to high quality silks). Anybody out there (brides, florists, etc) who can make an educated guess of how much the following list of items would have cost me if I had used a traditional wedding florist? All of the flowers used were roses, and some filler flowers and fall leaves were used as accents.1 very large round bride bouquet with 2-3 dozen large open roses, fall leaves, and filler flowers, with handle fully wrapped in satin ribbon 2 large round maid of honor bouquets with 5 open roses and 10 rose buds, few fall leaves, some filler flowers, handles fully wrapped in satin ribbon.5 medium sized bridesmaids bouquets containing 4 open roses, and 8 rosebuds, few fall leaves, some filler flower handles fully wrapped in satin ribbon.3 mother wrist corsages, 2-3 roses each11 single rose bud boutonnieres 1 groom boutonniere with 2 rosebuds, accent flowers16 pew markers, containing satin bows and 3 roses each4 medium sized church arrangements containing about 2 dozen roses each2 small swags and 2 garlands, 4 additional decoration bouquetsFYI, I already have the flowers. The list above is everything that I have and have already done. The bouquets look real from a few feet away. Actually, a few months ago I bought a bouquet of fresh orange roses from the grocery store and then compared them to my silks and they looked extremely similar…actually the silks looked better because their color was more vibrant. Honestly, flowers weren’t all that important to me…I mean I want them to be nice but I didn’t want the flowers to be one of the biggest expenses of my wedding. There were other places I would rather spend money, on things that mean more to me. So that is why I went with silks. But I’ve just been wondering what I would have paid ballpark for all of those fresh roses if I had gone through a florist.

Hello,I need some thoughts, advice, suggestions please! Here it goes… So, I’m getting married in about a month, and I thought I had my flower arrangements pretty much set until my design session yesterday. We were wrapping up the session until I noticed a price discrepancy of $50 in the contract, yes, it’s not a huge amount but I mentioned it. The who was helping us mentioned it to the owner and he became very irate and mentioned that if I signed the paperwork for the wrong amount then I have to pay the “wrong” amount??? Crazy, I know. The nice who was helping us asked him to please fix it for us, and so he did after she mentioned it but he already treated me so rudely. So, being all stressed out because my wedding is in a month, when she came back I began to cry and told her how rude he was and I didn’t deserved that. She apologized but kept saying he didn’t mean it. My maid of honor who was also at the design session was there and mentioned that he was a jerk and he treated me badly.Few moment later a guy comes into the flower shop and says “who owns the honda parked in the back?”, my MOH states she does and he follows to say that someone keyed the car. Ok, to make the long story short, the owner of the shop, who made me cry for treating me so badly was the one who keyed her car!! When the owner came outside, the witness pointed him out and said that it was him to he saw key her car, crazy!! My called the cops ASAP, and they came and we all saw the keyed scartches on the car.The owner ultimately got arrested and the nice who helped us she gave me all my money back but still defended him that he did not do it because she believes her boss. Horror story, i know… To finish it off, she tells me at the end that they want to compensate me for the aggravation by paying for all the flowers in my wedding and whatever I wanted, and even double the flowers, for free..My who’s car is keyed will be compensated for the damage and the owner who KEYED the car is saying he still didn’t do it (bs!) but will compensate because it happened in his property..Now, my question to you all is if I should go with it and accept the flowers being done for free as promised, or just dont deal with them?? Only reason why i’m thinking of going with them is bc it will be done for free and my future hubby and I can save money, and also bc i know they get a lot of business from my venue so they do not want to look bad because they know i will tell.Thoughts????

No it's actually a layer of the same shot esrcesopd two different ways. In the first one, I esrcesopd it normally, with a blue but not overly blue sky. In the other, I esrcesopd it so the colors were really vivid. Then I layered the vivid one over the normal one at about 50% until I got something I liked. In other words, I fiddled and fiddled and then hit save'.

Miriam,Thanks for the encouragement. I was vnaihg a battle royale with a painting last night and in the end the painting won. I went to bed quite discouraged. It's good to hear the other stuff is still vnaihg an effect.

Two of my favourite flowers [if one has to pick only two] combined to perfection! Fantastic result Pauline, and how lovely to reconnect with a former bride for such a wonderful occasion as the celebration of twins!

Buy fresh flowers in Walmart and make them your self. Enroll the help of trafcy relatives or friends. orHave silk flowers instead. As far as the church attentdant, be honest and tell her that you are looking into a more simple affair and that you don't need all of that. It seems like your church buddy is trying to bully you into something completly unnecesary, how tacky is that? You don't have to have a flower girl or ring bearer. They are out of style as a matter of fact. You need a bouquet for you, one for your bridesmaid and MOH, and bouttonniers for the groom, groomsman, best man, mother of the bride and father of the bride, That's it.I've never hear of corsages for attendants!!! Do what you can afford and don't let nobody twist your arm and intimidate you into getting additional and unnecesary expenses just because they need to feel superior giving you so called advice . Do not listen to her and stand up to her and tell then that you have other plans in mind and that it's ultimately YOUR choice what to do at your own wedding. Good luck
